TRASH BIN OR DUMPSTER NEEDED ON THIS BLOCK! Today's photo of the trash underneath the overpass on 51st between MLK and Shattuck. Although the garbage is cleared away every now and then, it is continually replenished. On the other side of this pillar there is now a City of Berkeley trash bin, probably full of trash or someone's stuff. Can't the City of Oakland put a dumpster or at least a regular trash bin here? You know the trash will keep being dumped on the street here and you will continue to clean it up. Wouldn't it be better to give people somewhere to put their trash? This is disgusting and a total disgrace.
  • 5100 Clarke St Oakland, California - Shafter
Middle of 5100 block of Clarke St, SE side. Hole in sidewalk around exposed sewer opening. The metal tube covering comes off and is sometimes sticking up or laying on sidewalk. This is a trip hazard and other safety issue.
  • 52nd At Shattuck Oakland, California - Temescal
Mattress and junk pile. There are active homeless encampments nearby but this stuff is clearly abandoned.
  • 51st At Miles Oakland, California - Shafter
Dead opossum squished into 51st St at Miles Ave. A dead skunk was nearby in the middle of the street. Moved the skunk out of the street to the edge of the sidewalk. Note this is the North/DMV side of 51st.
